The Asian Pacific American Law Journal (APALJ) at UCLA Law seeks submissions for publication in Volume 30. APALJ is the first, and one of only two law journals in the nation focused on Asian American legal issues. Submissions should be original articles or comments relating to legal, social, and/or political issues affecting Asian Pacific American communities.
Example topics of interest include, but are not limited to: affirmative action and Asian American Pacific Islander communities, anti-Asian violence, immigration law and AAPI communities, Asian American Pacific Islander diversity in the legal profession, and issues impacting underrepresented Asian American and Pacific Islander communities.
Anyone working towards or having received a graduate-level degree is invited to submit. APALJ publishes not only traditional law review articles but also book reviews, response pieces, and other academic legal writing. There is no minimum or maximum limit for the number of submissions per author. We accept submissions on a rolling basis but will dedicate expedited review to those sent prior to 11:59 PM PT on November 15, 2025. Please title the subject of the email "Submission to Volume 30." Submission Guidelines:
There is no page minimum or limit for consideration. Submissions should be double spaced, use 12-point Times New Roman font for the body text and 12-point Times New Roman font for the footnotes, and have 1-inch margins.
